A time to be born - Evelyn Gist Lee was born in Union, SC on January 29, 1915. She was the fourth child of James Edward Gist and Emma Glenn Gist. She grew up in rural Union, SC and attended the county school system. At the age of 20 she gave birth to her son, Max Gallman Jr, which began 80+ years of devotion as a matriarch to her son and her extended family.

Minister Brenda Wright Byrd, 70 Union, SC entered eternal rest on 02/09/16 at the Spartanburg Medical Center. She was a member and Associate Minister of Mt Rowell Baptist Church and President of the Pacolet River Baptist Association Women's Ministry, a past officer and member of the Woman's Baptist E & M Convention 0f SC.
She held positions of Worthy Matron, Secretary and Grand Associate Deputy of the Eastern Star in Union County.
Following her graduation fron High School, she earned her Bachelors Degree from Barber Scotia College and her Masters degree from Central Conn Univ. Continued additional studies at Converse College, USC and the College of Charleston, SC.<...
